Gun History
Whether you agree or not, it's an interesting lesson in history.
Something to think about...
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------------
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
------------------------------
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
You won't see this data on the American evening news or hear our president, governors or other politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans.....before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'.

Our gastrointestinal tract is home to trillions of bacteria, both good and bad. Probiotic products add more "good" bacteria. Advocates claim they can aid digestion, alleviate irritable bowel syndrome and even banish allergies.
Editor's note! To alleviate my IBS, I have discovered it helps to season my food with Cayenne pepper instead of black pepper (which does not digest) and eat plenty of YOGURT, consume much less raw sugars and avoid the company of liberal Democrats!
So many Internet users have their PCs set wrong or security so tight that they are not able to view this video! At the moment I am unsure what steps or FORMAT I will undertake to solve this problem. Basically this lady was explaining what the Second Amendment is and is not about! (Editor)
CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- A Chicago-based company is recalling beef products distributed in 11 states because of possible E. coli contamination, federal officials say.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said Friday that no illnesses have been reported from the meat, produced by JSM Meat Holdings Co. The agency was uncertain how much meat is being recalled.
The meat being recalled is used in ground beef products. Included are 30-pound and 60-pound boxes and 47-gallon barrels of "MORREALE MEAT" beef products.

* Lawmaker: Nation's food system collapsing
The products have the number "EST. 6872" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The products have 15 different labels including, "Boneless Chucks," "Boneless Clods," "Flat Rounds," "Gooseneck Rounds" and "Knuckle."
A message left for a company spokesman after business hours wasn't immediately returned.
The states affected are Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
E. coli, a potentially deadly bacteria, can cause diarrhea, dehydration and kidney failure.
Is it dangerous? Sure it is!
Is it preventable? No/yes............ not under the current USDA/FSIS inspection guidelines as basically the slaughter plants are allowed to "police" themselves!
(Every operation serving or selling food needs to have a food safety system in place that is designed specifically to guarantee the food being served is safe to eat. This specific food safety system is called HACCP for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point. HACCP is a system comprised of 7 principles that are to be applied to a written food safety program focusing on the food in meat operation.)
But largely, the processing establishments are allowed to choose their "critical points" of inspection and even then, politics, desire for massive turnout, cost vs safety etc. have brought this Meat Inspection program into the Dark Ages and barely better than before the Meat Inspection Act of 1908.
As an Inspecter since 1971 (not without interruption), I have observed at times when maybe because a bung was not properly tied, and during the hide pulling process, that FECAL material was spilled onto the carcass. Often times this point of spillage is legally trimmed out, but this takes additional time and TIME is important on a "chain" in a meat plant. So, many times the employee just takes his knife and scrapes the contents away, leaving an invisable film of filth and sometimes returns to trimming around the "tail head" without even sanitizing his knife! And even if a USDA or plant official catches this slight of hand, when the carcass is railed out to be trimmed better, I have seen the "cross contamination" of that carcass being bumped against another that perhaps was just "railed out" to remove a few hairs from the lower portion like the neck. Thus another contaminated carcass and no one knows to trim it!
If a QA watches this area too close and the production is slowed, TRANSFER........ !! Because the power of the Meat Industry is second only to the Oil and Gas Industry!
Is there a safety net? Yes! If you must buy mass produced patties, cook well! Secondly, due to the usual location of the spillage, good cuts of steak are safe from this spillage and fat (which usually is all that is contaminated), can be trimmed away. Finally, but certainly not the least of importance, find a local reputable CUSTOM plant and even buy your beef from a local farmer/rancher and even then have a thin layer of the fat trimmed away for peace of mind. ESPECIALLY from the TAILHEAD and Rounds of the carcass.
Too much trouble you say? Stay away from fast food or eating hamburgers out or buying ground beef where you are unsure! At least COOK WELL and for an added safety measure, put mustard on it as mustard has shown evidence of reducing risk of certain food born illinesses. (Recently after I was almost "doubled over" with stomach pains from taking one bite of spoiled food purchased locally from our only grocery store, I swallowed one (1) teaspoon of mustard and was feeling better in about 30 minutes!) Food safety is pathetic at best with no local "meat market" breaking down the equipment every 4 hours and cleaning properly. [now comes the typical disclaimer statement! Do not accept what I just wrote as pure fact nor should you accept anyhing I say as any more than opinion! In fact, it is possible that I learned very little even as an Inspector or even as a Quality Assurance Liaison for a "Lite Beef" company based in Denver! In fact, I may not be qualified at all with the exception of the fact that I farmed and ranched for many years! rf]

About past, ConAgra food scare; "...ConAgra is confident in the safety of its chicken and turkey pot pies when all the cooking instructions on the package are followed. It is especially important to follow the directions when the pies are cooked in a microwave". True! to a point, but these plants need to practice better sanitation and in my opinion, you would not eat anything prepaired by them if you could observe the processing!

FOOD POISONING: YOU ARE EATING CALIFORNIA’S DEAD PETS!
All of the dead animals in California are added to the feed of chicken, fish, beef, shrimp, etc.,
which we humans eat every day. Virtually all of the animals killed in shelters and veterinary clinics,
road kill, medical laboratories, feed lots, deceased wildlife, etc., are sent to one company, West Coast
Rendering in Vernon, CA, where they are piled up and left to decompose for days before being “rendered”
into a saleable product.
“Rendering means that these dead animals are cooked in a giant stew pot for an hour, at just
above boiling, and then the fat is drained off this soup and put in drums for shipment to cattle feed
facilities in California and elsewhere,” said Leo Grillo, founder of the largest care-for-life cat & dog
sanctuary in the world, D.E.L.T.A. Rescue, of Glendale, CA, “the rest is ground up into a powder and
loaded by tractor into either a container or an open grain truck, which is later used for grain and feed
transport.”
“Our D.E.L.T.A. Rescue Humane Investigation Unit followed trucks to American companies
where the powder, now called ‘protein meal,’ is added to farm-animal feed. We also followed containers
to the ports where they are loaded for shipment to Asia ... to be added to feed for the farmed fish
and seafood that comes back to the United States and is sold in our supermarkets. Check the labels of
the seafood in the stores: ‘product of Thailand, Vietnam, etc.’”
Los Angeles County has contracted to provide its dead animals to the same rendering plant for
decades. Four years ago, when Grillo informed the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors of where
their own Los Angeles County Animal Control’s dead animals were going, the Supervisors were divided.
Some said that they didn’t know about it, but did nothing; others said that this practice is perfectly legal.
Grillo continued, “What lawmakers need to realize is that these dead bodies, along with all
their cancers and other diseases, viruses, veterinary treatments, experimental laboratory drugs,
chemotherapies, toxins and bacteria from decomposition, are being fed to us. Yet we still wonder where
all OUR cancer is coming from..................Continue!
And if anyone doubts this, I am a former meat inspector with Texas VPH division and a past USDA/APHIS technician and I have seen lots of this!
There is a rendering plant near Booker, Texas that I used to inspect back in the 70's when I was a State inspector and then USDA took over and early in this decade they tried using the rendering, blood etc. in a compost fertilizer operation, but the enviromental and State of Texas water "boys" found it to be too unsanitary, so back to ingredients for animal food!

USDA: Most recalled beef has probably been eaten
The amount of beef -- 143 million pounds -- is roughly enough for two hamburgers for each man, woman and child in the United States.
Remark by USDA on most recent recall!
LOS ANGELES — Sometimes, government inspectors responsible for examining slaughterhouse cattle for mad cow disease and other ills are so short-staffed that they find themselves peering down from catwalks at hundreds of animals at once, looking for such telltale signs as droopy ears, stumbling gait and facial paralysis.
The ranks of inspectors are so thin that slaughterhouse workers often figure out when "surprise" visits are about to take place, and make sure they are on their best behavior.
These allegations were raised by former and current U.S. Department of Agriculture inspectors in the wake of the biggest beef recall in history _ 143 million pounds from a California meatpacker accused of sending lame "downer" cows to slaughter.
The inspectors told The Associated Press that they fear chronic staff shortages in their ranks are allowing sick cows to get into the nation's food supply, endangering the public. According to USDA's own figures, the inspector ranks nationwide had vacancy rates of 10 percent or more in 2006-07.
"They're not covering all their bases. There's a possibility that something could go through because you don't have the manpower to check everything," said Lester Friedlander, a former USDA veterinary inspector at a plant in Wyalusing, Pa.

WOW! So, you would think, assume and hope the meat industry would have been enforcing this law LONG before, right??
(7/25/2008)
California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed legislation this week designed to crack down on the sale of downed cattle for human consumption. The action was in response to the largest beef recall in U.S. history. which occurred earlier this year in Chino, Calif. That case was spurred on by an undercover video shot by Humane Society of the United States personnel.
"I am committed to ensuring California's food supply is safe and secure," Schwarzenegger said in a prepared statement after signing Assembly Bill 2098. The Westland/Hallmark case also had implications as a major supplier to the nation's federal food program.
"With today's action, we are strengthening California's food-safety laws and sending a message that violating these laws will not be tolerated," said Schwarzenegger.
The bill now makes it a misdemeanor to buy, sell, process or butcher a non-ambulatory animal for human consumption.

Home Invaders should take GUN HANDLING courses!
BLUE MOUND, Texas — When two gunmen smashed through the glass front door of her suburban Fort Worth home, Kellie Hoehn didn't think twice.
The 34-year-old mother of two grabbed a shotgun that had been pointed at her face early Wednesday, starting a struggle that ended with one intruder killed with his own weapon and another in the hospital.
"I wasn't going to let them get to my babies," she said, recalling the moment when she pushed up the muzzle of the shotgun, pointing it away from her children's rooms.
Although the intruders told her to keep quiet, she screamed for her husband. She told her 12-year-old son, who was awakened by the sound of the shattering glass front door, to get his 5-year-old sister and hide.
"It was like a horror movie," her husband, 32-year-old Keith Hoehn, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I thought I was a dead man. We're fighting for our lives."
With Kellie Hoehn clinging to the weapon's muzzle, her husband tackled the man who held the shotgun. She knocked the intruder in the head with a jar candle, giving her husband a chance to wrest the shotgun.
By then the tussle had spilled out onto the front lawn. Keith Hoehn shot one of the men who had a pistol, police said. Wounded, that man ran away.
Then the intruder who initially had the shotgun charged Keith Hoehn.
Kellie Hoehn told The Dallas Morning News that she screamed at her husband, "Shoot him, shoot him, shoot him."
Her husband fired the shotgun and the man fell to the ground. Then the shot man lunged a second time.
"Well, I shot him again, and I guess that was it," Keith Hoehn said.
Dakota Scott Benoit, 20, of Richland Hills, was pronounced dead at a hospital. John Garland Pierson, 25, of Haltom City, was in critical condition and in police custody at the hospital.
"I am not happy that someone is dead," Kellie Hoehn said. "But I am glad that my family is alive."
Police said Pierson was shot in the left arm and the bullet pierced his diaphragm and other organs but his condition was improving. He will face charges of burglary of habitation with intent to commit another felony, police said.
Investigators say the couple were just defending their family and probably won't be charged.
THIS EDITOR'S note: “Defending family PROBABLY won't be charged” ??? Praise the Lord and pass the biscuits....... I WOULD HOPE NOT! In my opinion, the dead intruder and his “sidekick”were not lawyers, since lawyers will not work, but I am sure some lawyer could find a reason! Sheesh! (Possible courses; Gun Handling 101, “Why I should not take a gun when I go out to “work”! And. Gun Handling 102, “If I die stupid, does that mean I was born stupid?”) Which begs to question, can the surviving intruder file a complaint against HIS parents for raising a worthless, stupid, dopehead?
